I used to walk into my room, dreading even looking at my bed. Every moment of the day I would be thinking about sleeping. I wanted it so bad, but I knew I wasn’t going to get it. My mood was low, and I couldn’t concentrate. I felt like I was letting my family down.
Every night was like being tortured, laying in the dark, mind reeling, anxiety spiking … I’m not going to be able to sleep.
I tried everything: Benadryl, Melatonin, Ambien, Trazadone, Valium, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sleep Doctors. Nothing worked. I would have trouble falling asleep, and then wake up after a couple of hours and not be able to go back to sleep. This went on for 7 months. I was desperate, and willing to try anything. So I went to see a Hypnotist.
She had me sleeping 5 hours a night, after one session! By the time I was done with my 5 sessions, I was sleeping all night, without any medication.
Hypnosis was the last thing I tried … I think it should have been the first!
